Penthouse Apartment

The client was designing a one and a half story apartment that could fit one to two people, while still offering plenty of space for guests and entertainment. The base floor will contain a foyer, closet, half-bath, and a dining room, kitchen, and living room that all connect seamlessly together.
The foyer will hold cabinets and serve as an area for guests to put their coats, purses, and other possessions when entering the home. Across from that will be the half-bathroom and closet for further storage. The foyer will open up to the living and dining room. The living room will have recessed floors leading to the couch and fireplace which will create a cozy environment without cutting off the seamless integration to the rest of the main floor. The dining room will sit directly behind the living room and adjacent to the kitchen serving as a centerpiece to the main floor and leading into a large outdoor patio.
The second level will hold the private areas such as the master bedroom, master bathroom and closet, and the office area. The client wanted a high ceiling and a balcony allowing the upper level to look over the rest of the space. The two spaces are connected through a black steel spiral staircase.
